Western Iceland has its own unique, almost mystical tranquility. I’ve been photographing the contrasts here—between boiling hot springs and ice-cold, vibrant blue waterfalls. This is a tour for those who appreciate the finer details and a slower pace.
Our day begins with the raw power of Deildartunguhver. As Europe’s most powerful hot spring, you can literally see and feel the earth working beneath you. Right next door is my personal recommendation: the Krauma Geothermal Baths. If you’re feeling up for it, we can stop here. It’s modern, relaxing, and often much quieter than the more famous lagoons. It’s the perfect moment to just breathe while I capture some effortless, candid shots of you relaxing.
What we will discover together:
Hraunfossar: To me, this is one of the most beautiful photographic subjects in Iceland. Countless small waterfalls flow directly out of a lava field over a stretch of nearly a kilometer into a crystal-blue river. A sight that enchants me every single time.
Barnafoss: Just a few steps away, you’ll see the wilder side of the water as it thunders through a narrow rocky gorge.
Reykholt & Snorralaug: We’ll take a brief dip into history. The ancient stone pool of Snorralaug is a wonderful, simple spot for portraits with a historical touch.
As always: everything is very relaxed. We stop wherever nature moves you, and I make sure you take home memories in pictures that are as real as the moment itself.
