Hæ! So glad you’re here. Grab a coffee (or maybe a shot of Icelandic Brennivín), settle in, and let me take you on a little journey. As a guide, I see a lot of weddings, but Siri and Christian’s? That was pure magic—a Nordic fusion so beautiful it would’ve impressed the hidden folk themselves.
Imagine this: The raw North Atlantic breeze dancing through your hair, the deep black lava sand crunching beneath your boots, and on the horizon, the majestic silhouettes of Vestmannaeyjar (the Westman Islands) rising from the sea like sleeping giants.
I had the honor of recommending this exact spot to Siri and Christian for their „I do“ moment. And what can I say? It was perfection.

The couple traveled to us from Norway, bringing not just their love, but 30 of their closest friends. But forget stiff etiquette! This wedding was all about authenticity. Instead of uncomfortable suits and silk gowns, the dress code was: Traditional Norwegian sweaters. It was a sea of wool and heritage patterns that harmonized perfectly with Iceland’s rugged nature.

And the highlight? Instead of flower girls, they had Beer Boys! With a healthy dose of humor and ice-cold drinks, they pulled off the coolest entrance this beach has ever seen.
Once the rings were swapped and the first tears of joy had dried, the real adventure began. Our next stop: the iconic Seljalandsfoss.
We stood right where the water plunges 60 meters into the depths, the mist glittering like diamonds in the air. A moment for the ages: a hearty swig of schnapps to warm the soul, a few kisses captured in front of the thundering curtain of water, and laughter that echoed louder than the falls themselves.

Before heading back to civilization, we took a detour through Hveradalir. This geothermal wonderland is where Iceland shows its true face: hissing steam vents, bubbling mud pots, and earth glowing in every shade from ochre to deep crimson. It was a surreal setting for the final group photos before the whole party—recharged by the island’s raw energy—headed to Reykjavík for the big celebration.

It wasn’t just a wedding. It was the feeling of total freedom intertwined with deep-rooted tradition.
